DESCRIPTION:Musical Improv Mondays starting August  18\, 25th \, Maybe Sept 1st\, definitely the 8th\, 15th\, and 22nd \nIntroduction / refresher  to the joy of creating a  Longform Broadway Style improvised musical . We will be learning  how to create rhyming\, and non rhyming lyrics\, as well as  Song Structure\, Rhythm\, and Meter. Then\, we will take all our new found musical skills and start building an entire musical\, from the ground up. The focus of this class is having fun\, and learning to have confidence in your inner song. No experience necessary though some improv helpful! Its going to be amazing\, because you are helping us make it up\, on the spot\, in real time!! \nThe Emcee is Mark Shone our visiting workshop leader. The performers will be experienced improvisers from the Longform workshop. \nMark Shone has a long history with performing\, singing\, and theater stretching back to childhood. He began his improv journey in 1999 when he moved from New York City to Seattle and started taking classes at Unexpected Productions. He joined the company as a cast member in 2005 and has performed steadily since then. Mark has explored long form and short form improv theater and has studied with Randy Dixon\, Aretha Sills\, Roberta McGuire\, and Keith Johnstone\, among others. He is currently Assistant Director of Education at Unexpected Productions and teaches both introductory and advanced level classes.
